Age entry criteria

All participants must be aged 20 or over at the time of the event taking place, in order to enter the 13 Valleys, 7 Valleys or 5 Valleys events, and aged 17 or over at the time of the event to enter the 2 Valleys Trail.

Entry criteria

2 Valleys Trail (20km)

  • The 2 Valleys Trail is open to everyone. There is no mandatory kit required and participants will be briefed at the start.

5 Valleys (60km) & 7 Valleys (100km)

  • There is no specific entry qualification required, however participants should recognise that these routes are over challenging terrain and not suitable for novice participants.
  • We highly recommend that you have experience of ultra distance running
  • Please note that depending on their pace, participants will be completing part of the event in darkness.
  • All participants must attend the event briefing
  • All participants must carry the mandatory equipment. This will be checked at the registration stand

13 Valleys (180km) entry criteria:

  • 13 Valleys (180km) participants must have completed at least one 100+ mile ultra since March 2021 and be able to provide evidence of this (i.e. results page or credible ranking page)
  • You can enter the event in advance of your ‘qualification’ 100+ mile event, however there is a strict requirement to provide evidence of completion at latest 8 weeks prior to the 13 Valleys event.
  • When you enter the 13 Valleys (180km), you will be asked for the qualification event name and date so that we can check your result. We reserve the right to refuse entry if, at our sole discretion, we feel that your level of ability and experience is insufficient to take on the event. In such instances your entry fee will be refunded.
  • What Qualifies
In most cases we will want to see completion of a single stage 100+ mile ultra over challenging multi-terrain in under 50 hours, or equivalent event, with published results. We may accept alternative evidence of experience, however this will be at our sole discretion. If you have any questions or would like to discuss qualification please contact us here: info@13valleysultra.com
  • All participants must be able to complete the event in an estimated time of under 45 hours
  • All participants must attend the event briefing
  • All participants must carry the mandatory equipment. This will be checked at the registration stand
